Postmortem forensic toxicology laboratory position – Chemist
The incumbent will serve as a Toxicology Lab team member in the Forensic Sciences Section at the Federal Aviation Administration’s Civil Aerospace Medical Institute located in Oklahoma City, OK. Job duties entail analysis of drugs, alcohol, and toxic gases on human biological specimens. Position responsibilities include: developing test methods and experimental protocols; conducting research to determine the presence and impact of various drugs and other toxic substances on performance; preparing biological specimens for toxicological analysis; and operating complex analytical equipment such as liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS) and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS).
This position requires proficiency with analytical chemistry/toxicology chromatographic techniques including LC/MS/MS and/or LC/QTOF and GC/MS, and the extraction and analysis of drugs/toxins from biological fluids and tissues.
