Forensic Certifying Scientist

Cornerstone Diagnostics is looking for an experienced Forensic Certifying Scientist to join its team. Cornerstone is a small independent CAP Clinical and CAP FDT accredited laboratory located in the Lake Cumberland region of south-central Kentucky.

Toxicology Certification

• Review EIA and LC-MS/MS data for different drugs of abuse in Urine and Oral Fluid
• Review LC-MS/MS calibration curves and quality controls for acceptability prior to specimen analysis
• Review validation data and summarize as assigned
• Review various chain of custody documents for patient profiles and client testing requests
• Certification of toxicological results to multiple clients including physicians, pain clinics, rehabilitation centers, probation officers, employers, and others
• Collaborate with the certification team to optimize specimen turn-around-time
• Certification of proficiency testing samples as assigned
• Assist laboratory personnel in evaluating and summarizing validation data
• Answer questions received from accounts about Toxicology results
• Provide expert testimony, when requested
• Assists with send out specimen result entry as assigned by the laboratory manager
• Workspace preparation, disinfection, maintenance, and organization
• The ability and capability to perform critical decisions and thorough judgement of interpretation of result data.
• Ability to perform tasks with extreme minimum to no direct supervision.
• Ability to collaborate across all departmental areas as an engaging partner with team members.
• Other tasks or duties as assigned
